The screening material itself is attached to a roller tube that spins on a vertical axis within the assembly’s housing. The screen is also attached to a vertical pull bar that rides on a top and bottom rail and is used to stretch the screening material across the door opening. When in use, the pull bar is fixed in place by a magnet installed on the side opposite the housing. When not in use, the screen rolls into the housing, out of sight.

Lexwood is a premium basswood shutter, built with traditional hand craftsmanship combined with the newest technology for a precision design and consistent quality control. 1. What is a Clear View Retractable Screen Door?
A retractable screen door is a home improvement product that is attached to the exterior frame or the interior frame of a doorway or window. The screening material itself is attached to a roller tube which spins on a vertical axis within the assembly’s housing. The screen is attached to a vertical pull bar which rides on two rails (top/bottom) and is used to stretch the screen material across the opening. Once deployed, the pull bar is fixed in place by one or more magnets installed on the side opposite the housing. When not in use, the screen rolls safely and slowly into its housing.
2. What types of openings will a retractable screen door work on?
The applications are endless and can be installed on any in-swing and out-swing doors such as: French doors, Single doors, Dutch doors, Sliders and Windows.
3. What makes the Clear View Screen different than the competition?

4. How difficult is it to install a Retractable Screen?
The installation of a retractable screen must be measured and installed by a certified, licensed, bonded and insured Classic Home Improvement Products, Inc. installer.  The installation of a single unit typically takes about 60 minutes; two units (french doors) typically take about 90 minutes.

5. What door and/or window sizes will this system fit?
All retractable screen doors are custom built to 1/16 of an inch, for your home and your home only. The screen can be installed on practically any opening, measuring up to 120″ in height and 140” in width.

6. Why use sill adapters?
Over 90% of all installations are customized. The sill adapters provide a seamless blending of the new screen to your existing threshold and frame. In a great number of cases, the sill adapter is a necessary component for proper screen operation and support. The sill adapter will improve the overall appearance of your new retractable screen and it will also prevent future damage to the bottom railing.

7. Are custom powder coated colors available for an additional charge?
Yes. We currently offer over 210 Tiger Drylac Custom Powder Coated Colors and also 19 Custom Powder Coated Wood Grain Finishes, but with any custom color order, the nylon components (end caps, handles, magnets, etc) need to be selected from one of the 11 standard nylon colors.
8. Can the screens be locked?
Yes, optional chrome latches or position holders are available for an additional charge. But, keep in mind that the retractable screens are for ventilation and bug reduction only; they are not meant to keep the bad guys out or to keep ones kids or pets inside.  
9.  What about pets and/or animals, can they get in or out?
The screen will keep pets/animals in or out to a degree, but the screen is not secured at the top or bottom by design. Therefore it is possible for a pet/animal to push its way underneath. The solution to this issue is to place a u-channel on each side of your door opening, and then we would cut a piece of plexi glass customized to your door opening width/height. Once your screen is in the operating position, you slide the plexi glass into place to block your animals from going out the bottom of the screen.
10. Can I do my own installation?
Yes, but we suggest to have all doors measured by Classic Home Improvement Products, Inc. to guaranty a proper fit.  Turn-around time is about the same, along with your ordered door you will receive a directionally DVD.

To accommodate various width and height requirements, two housing canister sizes are available. Canister size is determined by the width, height and screen fabric to be used. A 4″ housing canister (4 ¼” × 4 ¼ × 4″) can span up to 17’ in width and 12’ in height. A 5″ housing canister (4 15/16″ x 4 15/16″ x 4 11/16″) can span up to 25’ in width and 16’ in height. Both series use the same 2 3/16″ x 7/8″ thick rail system. The weight bar on each housing applications is the same as well at 2 ¼” x 7/8″ thick.
A self-contained 110-volt Somfy motor is factory mounted on either the right or left side of the Power Screen unit depending on the preference of the customer, which is decided at the time of the measure. The motor is compliant with CSA & UL safety codes and works on 180-240 watts/1.7-2 amps. The Clear View Motorized Power Screen can be ordered with a one-channel remote or one channel wireless wall switch (operates only one unit) or a five-channel remote or five channel wireless wall switch that can operate up to five units individually. A hard wired version of the wireless wall switch is available as well upon request.
All Clear View Motorized Power Screen extruded aluminum components are powder coated using one of our current 12 standard colors or we can do numerous custom colors as well. Clear View Motorized Power Screens are available in over 210 Custom Powder Coated Tiger Drylac RAL colors as well as 19 Powder Coated Wood Grain Finishes (additional charges will apply). But, with any custom color order, the end caps can’t be power coated and you must choose between white or black for the hard plastics.
The Clear View Motorized Power Screen mesh options are endless with the first option being Black or White Polyester Super Screen which is 5 times stronger than fiberglass mesh and helps block up to 60% of the sun’s rays. 80% or 90% Twitchell Solar Block fabric is available as well in Beige, Black, Brown, Desert Sand, Gray or White. 85% Solar Block Mesh is available also in Black, Pebble and White. In addition, 100% Privacy Material is available in Black or White which will block out 100% of the sun’s rays. Field installation of the fabric onto the roller tube is easily accomplished at the installation using a Velcro attachment system.
To ensure an exact fit, we will come out to your home to take measurements and show you our product. We will bring a small handheld demo, color chips and samples of the screen mesh color choices. The way we price our retractable screens is very simple. It’s either a Single or Double housing application. A Single Door, Dutch Door, Sliding Door or Window would be a considered a Single Housing Application, while a Double Door (French Door) would be a Double Housing Application. It doesn’t matter how tall or wide, what color standard fiberglass screen, or which of our 12 standard colors you pick; our price will not change on you. Our price includes the measure, manufacture, delivery, installation and a smile. Optional features such as upgraded screen mesh with a pet mesh (black or white) or solar mesh (black), cleaning kits, pet guards (plexi glass), locks, latches and sirens are offered at the measure as well.
